If purchased online, it is activated automatically. If bought at a petrol station, activate via the Salik website, the Smart Salik App, or by calling the Salik call center at 800 72545.
The standard toll is AED 4 per gate crossing. There is no daily cap for private vehicles. The Salik tag itself costs AED 100, which includes AED 50 in prepaid balance.
You will receive an SMS notification. If the shortfall is not topped up within 5 working days, a fine of AED 50 per day applies until the balance is restored.
Only Al Maktoum Bridge is toll-free between 10 PM and 6 AM, and on Sundays. All other Salik gates operate 24/7 and charge the standard AED 4 toll at all times.
No. Moving a tag between vehicles is a violation. Each registered vehicle must have its own Salik tag affixed to the windshield.
You can dispute violations through the Salik website, the RTA Smart App, or by visiting an RTA customer service center with your vehicle documents.
